Idoi Kagura

It is a type of Kagura that has been passed down in the Iidoi area of Yonekawa, and is based on the Dozan style and the Kashima style. The legend passed down by the ancients is as follows.

The first master was Eiji Sato, who came from Nagai Village and taught Kagura to Idoi. Although the date is unknown, this was the Dozan school, and Okina-mai, Dai-Yakumo-mai, Ko-Oi-kumo-mai, Yamanoki-mai, etc. were the dances of that time.

With no one to inherit the kagura in one generation, the props were stored in Tsuma (trade name, current Yoshie Sato's house), but at the end of the Meiji era, Oikawa Sakaki brought out the main masks and made a pilgrimage from the Jusanhama area to the Shizugawa area. It is said that he trained his disciples on Mukaihama, and the first generation mask is still on the beach.

This mask is said to have been created around 1855. Based on the remaining props, we invited the second masters Shotaro Chiba and Katsuzaburo Chiba and opened Kashima-style kagura. sanbanso, kuzushi odori, okagura, small dances (six neritomo), aramai etc, which are passed down to this day. This was passed down as the Kashima style.
